SMRL graduate student Elyse Baroncini awarded DoD Scholarship

SMRL Ph.D. student Elyse Baroncini has been awarded a two year scholarship from the Department of Defense as part of the Science, Mathematics & Research for Transformation (SMART) initiative from the National Defense Education Program.  As well as receiving funding for her research on bio-based polymers for use in lithium-ion batteries, Elyse will be given a research position at the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command's Communications-Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center (CERDEC) in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland upon her graduation in 2019.
